nView z310/z350 ac adapter

Hi everyone. I'm still trying to find the specs on the ac adaptors that the nView z310/z350 panels use. I have searched far and wide for any information on these panels and it is very rare. If anyone owns either one of these you could help me out alot by finding out the voltages on the pins of the adapter.

I attached a pic of the power plug.

Thanks,

Lou

nview z350 power info

Hello, I hope this will help you. I have 2 z350's. The power supply is made by Bestec power electronics co. The model # is BPA-353-n.
INPUT - 100-240v 50/60Hz 1a-max
OUTPUT +5.9v/3a, +12v/1.55, -12v/0.27a
My power cord has the same connector that will fit into the outlet shown in your photo. It does not say what each specific prong on the plug is rated.
I do not have VGA adapter for my z350. I was hoping someone would be able to tell me the pin-out that will go from 3 rows of 5 to 2 rows with 7 and 8. The post in panel paranoia for a nview spectra c did not work for my z350. I noticed in the previous photo that the holes are numbered. I think I will try again using these as my guide. Hope my info helps you.

I have a nview Z310 panel. The manual is missing and I can not get this panel to work. Can one of you help with my setup? I have a 3M 9700 OHP. When I put this panel on OHP - I see no images. The controls seem to work and so does the audio and the remote. Just hoping that this would work!!!
Is there someone who still services these panels?

I sent an email to Bestec in taiwan

transport97 - thank you very much for the ac adapter information. I sent an email to Bestec Power Electronics in taiwan (hopefully the right company). Here's the info in case anyone needs it:

sales@bestec.com.tw

phone: 886-2-29990133

Perhaps they have the ac adapter data archived.

I haven't gotten as far as trying to make the VGA cable yet, since I can't even power the unit up.

Maybe insearch could to a continuity test on his/her z310 VGA cable for us.

insearch - a little more info

insearch,

Some basic stuff to start...

If you look through the panel while turning it on or connecting it the PC do you see any kind of an image at all?

Are you using the VGA cable that came with it?

Are you hooking it up to a laptop or a desktop PC?

If a laptop, are you sure you have activated the VGA out on your laptop. Laptops usually boot up with that off.

Also, transport97 and myself could use your help on determining the pinouts of the VGA cable. Do you have and know how to use a basic multimeter and do a simply continuity test on your VGA cable? If so it would be easy for you to determine the pinout configuration of the cable and let us know.

Thanks, we'll try to help you as much as we can.

p.s. Does your z350 ac adapter have the same information on it that transport97's does? as follows:

The power supply is made by Bestec power electronics co. The model # is BPA-353-n.
INPUT - 100-240v 50/60Hz 1a-max
OUTPUT +5.9v/3a, +12v/1.55, -12v/0.27a

more leads on nView z310 z350 ac adapters

http://www.stontronics.co.uk/switchmodeadaptors5.html

on the web page look at model # BPA-353-1
their download catalog has it listed as SPU41-130-1

http://www.sunpower-uk.com/pitems/externaldesktop.htm

look at item BPA353 (18th item down in the page)

thanks to info provided by transport97 I was able to track down the above ac adapters that look like they are a match

although voltage on the 5V pin is 5V while what transport97 read to me was 5.9V

These are the closest ac adapters I can find and I suspect perhaps transport97 may have misread the 5.0V to be 5.9V or just typoed it on the keyboard.

I am sending email to both companies in the UK asking about pricing. I have not found any other sources for similar ac adapters yet but continue to search.

another idea

I realize that most power supplies in regular old desktop PCs give out +5V / +12V / -12V, but at higher amperages than the nView ac adapter. For instance, I am lookign at a power supply from a small desktop that gives:

+5V/15A
+12V/3A
+3.3V/12A
+5VSB/1A
-12V/0.3A

Compared to the panel requirements of

+5V/3A
+12V/1.55A
-12V/0.27A

at least the voltages are available. But feeding 5V/15A to a device needing 5V/3A sounds risky to me. Is there anyone more savvy with amperage issues out there that can provide feedback about using a standard PC power supply to run the panel?

ATX power supply seems to work

OK, after learning a little about amperage I rigged up an ATX power supply to feed the z350 the proper voltages.

The nView fired up and here is all I got:

* the fan turned on.
* the speaker made a very low noise that sounded like it was turned on
* the red LED turned on
* the small LCD display panel in the keypad turned on and after a few seconds displayed "press any key" - pressing any key on the keypad did nothing

the green LED never lit
the LCD panel itself never seemed to do anything, no display, no logo, etc.

I do not have anything connected to the panel VGA port yet.

What is the typical startup sequence for a z310/z350 ? Is this typical? I would expect pressing a key on the keypad to do something.

hi all
i am currently using a powersuply made from an old A.T. powersuply and keyboard plug it seems to work but there is a slight electrical interference. this however could be coz of my panel (z310) if anyone is interested i can post the pinouts and the wires to use .

nview Z350 Power Supply.

I posted separate thread too and posting here also because don't know which one will be picked in future some one needs this help.

I have two non working panels and need power supply and video cable if nview Spectra C is not working.

davneil

this is the plug with the voltages on the pins . the colour of the writing corresponds to the colour of the wire's you will find in the pc powersupply ,exept for the RTN which is black any AT powersupply will do.these wires are usually standard.if you have any probs i will help you as best as i can.good luck.

ps this works on my z310 . iam only assuming it is the same for the z350.

thanks all
