Sounds like you may either have a bum panel or a bum power supply or a bum cable. Have you tried just plugging in the display without the pc cable (just the panel itself). Teh plus has a screen that will come up (at least mine does) when there is no input.
If you are not even getting that I would break out the old multimeter and check the volatage that your power supply is putting out. If it is too low the panel will not light up (although the led can come on as it takes a lot less power to run the single led then it does the screen itself).
Also make sure that you have a strong light going through the panel. You cannot see the picture simply by looking at the panel unless it is sitting on a projector (or has a powerful light going through it).
Hope this helps
Chris

the panel shows up the test screen but when i plug in the vga cable the panel shows black screen. Even the resolution is down to 640x480 and 60Hz. I don´t know why.
Sounds like you may have a problem with the cable. The spectra Plus will only work at 640x480 and 60Hz. If it is set at that and you are still having problems then I would break out the multimeter and start testing the cable to make sure there is nothing wrong with it (the VGA cable). The plans are here on this site (as I used them to make a calbe) just do a search for Nview Spectra cable and you will find them.
Are you using an OEM cable (the one that came from the company) or are u using a mac adapter with a vga extension cable? If you are using the mac adapter I have noticed that there is only 1-2 types out of all of the ones out there that work. (I know I bought 4 from ebay before I said screw it and built mine).
Anyways with the information you gave me it does seem to be a problem with the cable.
As for the 1st post. The 1 LED stays on all the time and the other (at least the green one on mine) flashes when the remote command is "understood".

ok thanks, i will test the cable. i have the original one from nview...but i think that a pin is broken...will see..
thanks
thanks
Thats cool. The panel will do exactly what you are saying if a pin (that is needed) is broken off.
A good supply for connectors for the cables are older sound cards. Esp the Analog Devices AD181x series cards. These can be had farily cheaply and the connector is the perfect fit. Then all you have to do is cut off a vga extension cable, wire up according to the diagram, and you are good to go.

Hi sizzle,

I recently purchased a nView Spectra Plus off of Ebay and it did not include any cables.
I would like to know what kind of cables I need to get this running, and I need to know what kind of power supply I need to get...amps, volts, polarity, ect...
Anyways, If you could help ASAP I would be greatly appreciative...
Thanks...
BTW, do 9 pin Female to 15 pin VGA adapters work for this??
Thanks...
