Hello, for Nview Spectra C Users which may be interested
and are also able to help me a little bit
Perharps this is interesting for someone who want to repair
something or to bring some light into the question
"How much color can this Nview Spectra in reality !!!"
It seems that there are a few different versions from
this Spectra purchased. When i look from behind at
the connetcors then the power connector is on the right,
and the VGA connector is on the left side.
It has no video input.
On the front is an onprint "Viewframe"
Inside there is a LCD Panel from Sharp with the following
onprint "Sharp LQ9P011"
And about this one i want to talk about......
So after thousand emails i got a datasheet for "my" LQP9011
This are the facts about this display !!!!!
8,4" 640x480 (350,400 und 480 line mode possible)
512 colors, 9 Bit
Each color is displayes in 8 gray scales from
3 bit signals input. Arrording to the combination
of total 9 Bit data, 512 colors are displayed
Response time = typ 80ms (30ms rise, 50ms fall)
Horizontal reverse (rear projection via DIP switch)
Transmissivity 5.8
My Comments:
I think with dithering you can get 4096 colors.
But how to the hell can i get 1.4 Mio colors from a 512 color
panel.
So and those who say that this panel is pretty fast.
It seems that typ 80ms isn't as fast as thought.
** Please can anyone verify what panels inside your Spectras **
I need to know for sure if this is the standard LCD from Nview
or if there are different models with different LCD panels
outside. That would declare the different color statements
i have found.
Perharps someone knows that i have a problem with my DOA
Nview and therefore i'm interested if not someone
before attached a wrong panel with fewer colors.
That would declare why i have "unnatural colors"
See thread: -> Nview User courageus
I have no host space for this datasheet online.
But If anyone want it i can email the datasheet
with all infos about pinning. It's about 600kb
and is from 18.Sep.1992 and inludes 15 pages.
best regards
Rainer

I did one mistake.
I wrote here that this LCD has 512 colors (9 bit)
This is still correct.
I didn't understand immediatly how you get
1.3 Mio colors with so few colors with this LCD.
Now i will correct my error !
It's 512 (R) x 512 (G) x 512 (B) = 1.3 Mio colors
