Hello Folks,
I've been offered an nView Media Pro.
Does anybody have any info on this LCD panel?
I've scoured these forums and net but not found too much about it.
I've found that it has a resolution of 640x480 and COMP/SVID/RGBHV/VGA inputs, but do you know how many colors it can produce or how fast, or the contrast ratio etc...
I suppose the big question is how does it look projecting video. I have a Dukane 680, 7000 lumin overhead projector.
Any advice would be greatly accepted...
THANK YOU...

Maybe you should have asked before buyin. Anyhow, sorry I cannot help, that's why I didn't bid on that item as well. The general rule is...if it's cheap, it isn't good, because there are experienced people out there too. They see it.
Thank you for the reply.
Please tell me, with the specifications above, what is wrong with this panel ???

Another piece of advice I can give you: just because you think you've found specs on something...search further. I was going to purchase a Nview Spectra C projection panel, and it turns out there were two types with that same model name (Thx to forum members who pointed this out), one of which was way better (more colors) than the other.

That is a site with a lotta stats on a lotta panels. To answer about your stats, those are some great stats, if they apply. 16.7 Million colors is as good as it gets! S-video is perfect, and 640x480 is a small resolution, but it works fine for movies and games. 640x480 is just fine, it's what mine has.
But, a quick search on google turned up: 262,144 colors
(HERE: http://www.rentcom.com/sales.html)
And then yet another saying 16.7 million.
Which is significantly LESS colors, and still might be acceptable, depending. You should ask the seller, above all, how many colors, but I have found sellers not very responsive sometimes. 🙁 Maybe hiding something...
All in all, I am surprised at how cheap you got it for for a color panel!! ($40) I got mine for $135 (Nview Spectra Plus) and havent gotten it yet to confirm its results. Worst case scenario, you can resell it again on EBay if you believe it doesnt have enough colors for you, minimal losses (Maybe even a profit, who knows! You used BuyItNow)
Long enough response? 😉

Thank you for the reply,
I, like most people who have an interest in this stuff use the same postings as you to look up panel infomation. I also looked at Google and found exactly the same infomation as you.
I then found an ex dealer who confirmed the 2 mil colors for this panel. So with an S video input etc I think it'll work just fine.
I got it cheap because I keep my eyes open on eBay and then act fast.
I bought another panel today. I have not paid yet, but we agreed a price of $50.00. Not bad for an almost unused 2 mil color nView Z210 with hard case and all the bits and peices.
Not the best in the world maybe, but good enough for me. I'll try both sell one.
Please will you answer another question for me...
I keep reading that the Sharp QA-2500 is the Holy Grail of LCD panels, but as far as I can see it's well beaten by the Proxima Ovation A822C-C for video projection. The resolution differance does not matter, and the Proxima has a 200-1 contrast ratio where a Sharp QA-2500 has a ratio of 100-1. This should make a huge differance when projecting video.
What do you think ???
Not bad for a Newbi Ah !!!
Thanks for the help...🙂

i'm happy with it!
Tom, I have a NVIEW MEDIAPRO lcd panel. I'm using it with a 3000 lumen OHP and happy with it. It is slightly better than my other 2MIL LCD panel. I paid $135 and find it a little suspicious about your "buy it now" for $40! I hope i'm wrong.
You should get better results than me with your 7000 lumen OHP.
good luck

I just think I got lucky and went onto eBay at the right time. I think a lot of people don't really know what they are selling or what it can be used for...
Good for us I say !!
Thanks, Tom...
