now that we have tiny neo tweeters... any novel applications?

Occasionally fun just to throw out a thought idea. Sure that this is a total non starter, but what might be the result of this?
Surely someone has tried it? The way I've drawn it with a quick sketch just to illustrate the thought, it would be absurdly directional. But some other way of suspending the tweet in front of some variety of convex/concave parabolas?

As long as the neo tweeter selected is a decent model. There are many bad examples of compact neo tweeters - more bad than good.

Possibly convert your favorite bass-mid to a coax if it has a larger VC diameter and you're willing to perform the modifications to it. Good candidates are the Eminemce Beta 6 and Beta 8, possibly others with a 2" VC and low 90s dB/W. I have a few LPG car tweeters and Seas neo soft domes that would do good. The Beta 6 would be one of the better choices due to the sensitivity and cone diameter.

A 360 degree WG aka UFO with tweeter firing up in the middle of 2 sandwiched sphere sections would be cool. Always wanted to try it. Not sure what the FR would be like with the tweeter situated that way. You could add a large mid dome in a similar arrangement to make a 3 way.

Isn’t that the case with all classes of drivers?

In all sincerety, most neo tweeters I've come across are poorly made with cheap materials... the kind usually found in cheap automotive coax speakers.

The fundamental flaw is Fs and Qts will be very high due to the compact design, so controlling the peak will be crucial to making the driver sound decent as a reasonable xover point will have the driver working in that critical area. Thats why the majority sound pretty bad, moreso percentage wise than other types of tweeters or cone drivers.
