Novice turntable build - help!

Hello. Brand new member.

Looking to build a turntable for the first time.
I pulled this motor off a JVC 1-A21 belt drive unit. Tried testing it by plugging it in. It is getting power, but the motor is not turning. What am I missing?

If you spin the shaft CW with your fingers, does it run then?

Rayma, thanks for replying. I did try that and it spins. In the mean time I discovered that it actually does work.
We'll see what happens when I get my platter set up and put a belt on it. Next up is to figure out the suspension method for the platter...

Rayma, thanks for reply. I tried that and it does spin. In the mean time I figured out that it does in fact work. We'll see what happens when I get my platter put together and wrap a belt around it.
Now to figure out the platter suspension method...
