Notifications for every post in a thread even when forum has not been revisited.

Hi,

I'm getting multiple email notifications for posts in a thread despite the email text reading "There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again."

I DO receive more notifications. This happens on multiple threads. It started some weeks ago. I receive a notification per post...

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Some of the busy threads (Blowtorch preamp for example) produce a LOT of notifications.

I think as long as you are signed and logged in you keep getting the notifications. That's what I've found anyway. When you leave the forum, the notifications should fall back to just one per applicable thread.

I now set each subscription to not notify by email and instead I rely on the 'subscribed threads' button found under 'User CP' at the top of the page. It works well.

Thanks to Elena at HQ -0 she had the idea that if I log in and go to the user control panel select "Subscriptions" under Subscribed Threads in Folder.

On the right hand side of your screen, you can check or uncheck which threads you would like to receive email notifications from.

I unsubscribed from everything and then later resubscribed - after monitoring it for a few days I now only receive one notification for a new post and no more notifications until I've read them.

Works as advertised on the tin!
