Not so good

Now at least I can move forward with recovery and start regaining some of the 30 odd #'s I lost during the ordeal. And regrow the 12" x 1" centerline gash down my belly through secondary intention and granulation. Probably another 3 to 4 months of healing and I'll be back to restoring tape decks, amplifiers, and building bigger and better speakers in my retirement. Hope springs eternal.

Great news!!

We went through this once, my second daughters birth became a full alarm emergency with my wifes crit going down to 4 or something. Weeks later we go a bill for $60,000 because the ICU is a "private" room and not covered for childbirth. Not surprisingly a call with a threat of trebble damages fixed that.

Sponsors needed

I'll be participating in a charity fund raising event this weekend, supporting sarcoma research at Ohio State James Cancer center, the folks who kept me up and going.

Anyone caring to donate to this worthwhile charitable endeavor may do so at the link below:

Also, here's a blog I started for those with more in depth interest for whatever reason.

Haven't been active of late... busy with all the medical crap... update: Anthem BC/BS FINALLY has covered all the outstanding claims... just in time for my switch to Medicare.

One more surgery in October to repair the significant herniation in my 12" belly incision from the septic peritonitis. Plan is for a component separation with mesh insert (new type, non reject-able mesh) to avoid bowel strangulation and remove large scarring. Hopefully this will be my last medical intervention for some time... I'm tired of all this...

Final bill added up to over $325,000... with our out of pocket ~$10,000 or so. Maybe I'll get back into the audio thing eventually.
