This Thread has been revived
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/chip-amps/147830-maximum-output-tda2050.html
I use Quick Links and Subscribed Threads
to see any threads that have new posts where I have posted previously.
But periodically I find a Thread with a new post that was not listed in the Search all Subscribed Threads.
Why do I not see some revived Threads?
Is there a time limit for a "subscription"?
This post and it's editing is taking ages to refresh. Is there a problem?

I've just replied to that thread so you should see it.
If a reply is from a member under moderation (e.g. a newbie as here) then the thread notifier isn't triggered, but it should still show in your subscribed threads.

Yes, this Thread was included in my searched subscription list.
I see looking back that Tata is a new Member. Maybe that that explains why I was not flagged?
But your new post yesterday has still not flagged up the old Thread.
It looks like my subscription due to contributing is not in effect.

It's happened again.
This post shows in the DIYaudio new posts list.
It does not appear in my Subscribed Threads list.

Has my subscription lasped?

Well Cpcustoms66 is a new member (1 post) but I would have thought you would have got a notifier from the following reply.
Subscriptions don't expire but I suppose a glitch in the data base can't be ruled out. Your last post was several years ago.
Why not just make a test post to the thread saying 'subscribed to thread' and see if that fixes it.

Once I look at the Thread the system remembers that I have seen it, maybe a cookie?
Then it will appear on my subscription list but greyed out because I have seen it.
I look for the bold Threads in the list to see what is new in any Thread that I have subscribed to, or posted in.
I went to my list today expecting to see the "collaborative" Thread and it is still missing, even though two new posts are there and I looked at it yesterday.
Odd.
I will go to it and specifically "subscribe" and see if my listing changes.

Added myself as "subscriber".
Now the subscription list shows "collaborative and as expected it is greyed out.
And now there are 4 new posts made yesterday and no listing until after a NEW "subscription" was made.

I sort of follow most of that but I think you are saying that until someone posts to the thread you won't know if its working correctly.
Now that I have subscribed again I expect it to work.
But what I don't know is how many other Threads are losing my subscription?
It's only when I chance upon a missing in action Thread that I discover the missing listing.

A Member posted an enquiry in a quiet Thread.
Your system did not alert me to the new post !
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/swap-meet/132440-lsk170-matched-pairs-uk.html
I found the post by a manual search in swap meet for my name and it shows at the top of the listing.
But when I use "Quick Links" and view "Subscribed Threads" the new post, nor the Thread are listed.
I have reported this fault a few times and your Moderators do not believe me.

Andrew, I suspect the problem is still to do with moderated (newbie) members.
The post above RCruz is from a member who would have been under moderation when that post was made. I'm assuming you haven't visited that thread since before that reply as you made no comment to the question asked.
If you feel there is a glitch in the subscription for that thread then simply delete the subscription from your subscribed threads list before you post a new reply. Having then posted a reply check to see that you are automatically subscribed again.

you are not seeing the problem
The Forum system allows one to see a chronological listing of all new contributions to Threads that have been logged as previously subscribed. Just use "Quick Links" then click on "Subscribed Threads" in the drop down menu.
Rcruz posted in the Subscribed Thread (I gave you a link to the Thread so that you could see his post and when it was made).
But the system did not list that Thread, nor that post, even though the Forum search claims to show all Subscribed Threads.
It does not.
Rcruz is not a new Member.
I have been subscribed to the Thread for over 8 years, I started it.
I did not know there was a new post until after Rcruz posted in another Thread so say I had not contacted him.
The system is broken ! But yet again you do not believe me.

I use the same Andrew, well 'user c/p' rather than 'quick links' but both end at the same place, subscribed threads.
It is not that no one believes you, I'm just trying to look at every common possibility.
Best I can suggest is you do as I advise, delete the subscription and then re-subscribe. That will create a new data base entry.

I stopped receiving notifications a couple of years ago, no idea why but I also noticed it became unreliable, could have been actions I took which I've now forgotten. I never bothered to re-subscribe and probably won't now as my inbox always gets too much new mail!

Once I have subscribed it should be permanent, until I or the system undoes that.

I go in almost daily to see updates to all my old Threads. That's what Quick Links + Subscribed Threads does for me and places the new posts in chronological order.
This method is what I used tonight to see your new post to the Forum problems Thread. As long as the listing is complete, then I get to see any new post in any thread that I have previously subscribed to.

If it was a glitch somewhere then you don't know, its as simple as that. While it should be permanent these things sometimes happen, and tbh, put into context it must be very very infrequent. I'm subscribed to nearly 7000k threads and can't recall even if I have had anything like this happen.
The forum software is much like an operating system, its not perfect and things sometimes happen. Its bought in as a package in just the same way you would go and buy Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 off the shelf on a disc to install.
It appears that I have reported 4 separate instances of this occurrence.
Have any of my reports been passed on to the Team that looks after the software?

That's like asking Microsoft to respond personally to a problem that isn't in the normal sense reproducible, in other words it 'aint gonna happen.
If you could see a pattern or know what steps were needed to reproduce the issue then yes, you might get somewhere.
Bottom line is the forum software is old and that is why Jason is looking to move onto something newer at some point.

Here is an idea to try out,
go to your Subscribed Threads in Folder page and in the upper right corner of that pane, tick the selection box so all subscribed threads are selected...
Next, in the lower right corner, go to Selected Threads: drop down box, select a new Update Subscription Type option and click the Go button.
Eventually if this work, it will update the database settings and smoothen out any glitches that might have appeared in the past.
There is one limitation though... a feature wish perhaps the mods could add is, add to the "Subscribed Threads in Folder" page an option to select how many threads are viewed per page, as it stands now 20 threads per page is default and only setting, which may become a PITA when one have hundreds of subscribed threads to update.
It would be good if one could view many more threads per page, say add options like 50, 100, 200 and 500 threads per page, and/or simply add an "All threads" option, so one can perform an update to every thread one have ever subscribed to in one single operation.
