I am looking at building a Transmission Line subwoofer similar to the t-lines that Fried built, back in the day. Looking at Dr. Martin King's alignment table, it looks like I could get good results with a Dayton 8" woofer and a line length of about 10 feet (120"). The line will be tapered such that the terminus will only be about 60% as big as the beginning of the line. Are there any suggestions or admonitions that you would like to give me on this project?
I think that a tapered line is a great idea. The more I look at classic TL's, the more the tapered line stands out as a design that has a lot of advantages.
If you can wait a week or so, I will be posting a new set of alignment tables that improve on the first set and cover a wider range of driver parameters. I am also including four case studies to try and give the reader a feel for the variables that can be adjusted and what to expect for a response from a given geometry.

This is great news MJK. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your continued work in this application.
