but I've learned a lot lurking here. Sadly time, space and complete lack of skill or knowledge limits my DIY abilities. Instead I worked with James Burgess to have these amps built. WE91A circuit with 6sj7 driver tubes, hashimoto OPT's, Angela PT, ASC oil caps, teflon V-caps coupling capacitors, etc.

I think they look really nice. The feet are myrtlewood and the top was fabricated by front plate express. The power cords are soundstring's that I've used on other amps and really like - and the captive cords will keep me from fiddling with expensive PC's.

I'm hoping these are my last amps for a while. Can't imagine after all the thought and effort that went into them I'll want to see them go. James is running them in for a day or so and I should have them next week. They'll feed a pair of Audio Note AN/E spe's fed by an Art Audio/Gill Elise LT DAC with volume.

A quick question to the OP.

Could you give some details of your DAC? I am the process of working out what I will do for a good one. I have a bunch of older CD players with various DACs.

Seems like you have a pretty sweet set up?

Cheers Matt.

The DAC is a Gill Audio that is loaded with lundahl transformers. It's got a pair of 6922's, a 6fq7 rectifier, a seperate digital upsampling board - that sucks, and a remote volume that i assume is an alps of some sort. I borrowed it on a whim from my local dealer and was just struck by how musical and yet detailed it was. Did not really demo any others, but I was looking to simplify my system to focus just on my digital front end, so the volumen control allowed me to get rid of my pre - A really nice dehavallind Mercury 2 that I loved From I can gather the digital section is not SOTA, but the transfromer coupled output stage is very well though out and put together I will "only" handle up to 24/96 data and has not USB but it works for my material I'm feeding the dac with a logitech touch that is connected to a dedicated music server by vortexbox.
