Sorry guys wasn't sure where to post my question but anyways, I have bulit my projector with 15" lcd screen. The problem is i get no picture on the screen, At best all I can see is many vertical lines of all different colours. What I need to know is: would a normal projector light one of the yellow ones be powerful enough to make any image appear on the screen? Or have Is my screen broken? any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
almost any light source will do
It should make some sort of image with a dark room. Even a normal backlit LCD monitor will make a dim upside-down image with a projection lens between it and the wall.
With a strong light source behind it and at least the condensor fresnel in place, you should be able to look at the LCD and see a picture. Look at an angle, not right down the projector beam!
I agree with Clinton: Make sure your FFC cables are going into their sockets straight, and that the sockets are closed.

tried re-connecting my fc cables, still no good. Should the LCD screen display something at *power on* that would be visible when a computer isnt connected to the screen? or would I need a computer connected to it to get anything?
no signal
Some monitors display a No Signal message if nothing is connected. Others don't display anything at all. Connect something!
