I find the following listings for the 5Y3

5Y3, 5y3G, 5y3GA, 5y3GT none of which have any slow warm up capabilities. I can find no listing for a 5Y3WGT tube. A slow warm up is nothing to worry about anyway. It will make absolutely NO difference to the Tweed Deluxe if it has a 5y3 in it or a 5AR4 in it. A 5AR4 will give approximately 15 seconds of warm up time compared to an almost instant on for the 5Y3. The instant on that you get with a 5Y3 and others is nothing to fear.

In the case of my line stage I did some tube comparisons to see the difference in the B+. A 5Y3 gave me 366 volts, a 5AR4 gave me 388, a 5Z4 gave me 388, and a solid state rectifier gave me 396 volts. I will post a chart with common 5 volt rectifiers on it.

A 5Y3WGT is also known as a 6087 which is a slow warm up indirectly heated cathode similar to a 5AR4, but less hefty. In most cases a 5Y3 and 6087 are interchangeable. The "W" signifies military specification, which is usually ruggedized
