Hi,
I have just bought a pair of norelco 9762m's. I have searched the web and found quite a few examples of open baffle designs. However I have not managed to find a conclusive set of plans for 12" drivers such as these.
Specs are as follows,
Pdiss 20
Res 45
Freq 17000
Imp 7
qts 1
I know someone else posted here with the same question and was provided with a link to the je labs site. There is some quite useful info, but I'm really looking for some plans, to help get the best out of these drivers (accepting that they may not be ideal).
Trouble is I don't know how to work the measuremnts out, also I don't have the right software on my computer to use the open baffle programs I have seen around the web.
So does anyone have any plans for open baflles using 12" drivers like these?
Thanks
Raja

Philips AD5200M/Norelco 9762M
Hi Raja,
Here is a little information specific to the Norelco 9762M drivers.
http://www.sitecenter.dk/otc/nss-folder/philipsfullrange
There are several box designs and an open baffle design specifically for the 9762M and AD5200M 12" drivers.
Here are the Thiele Small parameters for the Norelco 9762M full range.
I think that the Philips AD5200M drivers is close enough to the Norelco, that these parameters could be used for both.
The Philips AD5200M was the last of the 12" full range drivers designed from the original Norelco 9762M.
Membrane weight ~ 25g
Fs = 40 Hz
Re =
Qms = 11.9
Qes = 1.2
Qts = 1.0
Membrane area = 530 sq-cm
Vas = not measured
VC impedance = 7 Ohms
Max power = 20 watts
VC diameter = 1.25"
weight = 7.71 pounds
The Vas is not included in these parametrs, this may be needed to be able to model a proper sized box and vent for this driver.
I have seen a few places on the net where some people claim that a 5 cu. ft. box would be right for an Fs of around 35 Hz, but I do not know for sure.
Good luck
