Noob Portable BT speaker

Looking for some advice on building a portable Bluetooth speaker from a Seahorse 520 (Pelican knockoff) case. Something to take to the pool, beach, bbq...

The case is roughly 15x12x7 and I’m considering using an Infinity 8” marine two way speaker (822MLT) which barely fits the case but struggling to find the right amp. I’ve also considered a single 6x9.

This is just a toy project so I want to keep the electronics under $50 if possible. Otherwise I’d probably just get a UE Megaboom.

I can get the Infinity 8” pretty cheap ($30-40) if I move quickly—and it’s already pretty weatherproof with cool LEDs—but maybe be too much speaker for what I need.

I thought about the Dayton KAB 100w mono amp with BT built in. Or maybe one of the Sure/Wondom 200w mono boards. I’m going to get power from 4-6 18650s; so should have between 14-24V of power.

Any advice would be appreciated!!

Thanks @Lojzek! Definitely not opposed to a sealed 12Vdc battery. Just already have enough 16850s already laying around & thought it was the easiest.

Any guidance on a small car amp that can fit within the 6” deep case around the speaker that protrudes ~3.5” into the middle of it?
