Noob needs woofer advice =D

I bought a 2.1 Promedia from Klipsch. The sub works great for my small room. But... I like bass... I don't think it is possible to have too much bass. I was considering building an additional sub along with the sub that came with the pro media. Would this be a bad idea to have two different sized subs? If I were to build an additional woofer should the driver be the same brand? I believe Klipsch makes their own drivers.

all kidding aside, what you have is a ported woofer not a subwoofer. I know they call it a subwoofer but it's not. If you want to add a subwoofer you'll need to give us some info.
what is your budget, how large is the room this will be in, how low do you want the subwoofer to go, what is the average SPL you listen to music/movies at, what will the system be used for, music, movies, stress testing home construction 🙂

I really don't know what I want to add now LOL I just want more bass.

Don't really know... No set budget but I also dont want to spend $1000...

9ftx12ft (rounded down)

I run everything through my computer. Music, movies, stress testing home construction and ******* off neighbors of course. I have my sound card set to game mode so I get a little extra punch out of my "ported woofer" lol I would say about 75% of the time I use it for music the other 25 for games/movies.

no, but you'll probably want to plug the port on the "sub" so that group delay dosen't muddy up the crossover point too much.

first get WinISD pro. google it, it's free software. Read the help files in winisd they will tell you everything you want to know, then read Using WinISD: A Step by step tutorial then go to a site like Parts Express they post the T/S parameters for most of the subwoofer drivers they have.

that should get you started.

I cant find the t/s parameters for any of the woofer drivers 😵

I would guess if you were aware of T/S parameters you really aren't a true Newbie.......Do you know how to do the calculations......& what they mean?
If your head is filled with formulas & your doing calculations in your head....your well on your way to the black-hole that is this hobby.
"never have too much bass".......your kidding right? When your dishes on the dining room table start dancing around.....& eventually fall off.........when the pictures on the wall start 'tipping'.........when your feet get numb from time to time from the vibration...........Yes , there can be a decibel level which is "too much".....let alone hearing damage.

To be honest, I think I'd consider buying something like this. For $100, you'll be hard pressed to buy speakers, amps, wood, veneer etc to match it (the finish isn't likely to be as good unless you're experienced at such things). It won't be matched specifically to what you want from it (won't go near 25Hz -are you sure?-, to name one setback), but for the sake of an easy life, I'd consider that. No need to read further if you decide to buy commercial gear.

Still with me? Good.
The DIY side allows you to choose drivers and cabinet alignments that will do exactly what you want to do. It won't be the cheapest or quickest option, as there will be lots of agonising over which driver/amp combo to use, whether or not the extra inch of height is worth the extra Hz extension it produces, and then experiementing with stuffing/lining the cabinet, and adding bricks in case there's too much cabinet volume.
