I will reply all emails today because I funish test first lot of DAC checking already.

All running 24 hours already! AND use earphone to test noise!
take a look for photo pls.

Now can post on Monday was 3 set of full balance & 5 sets of SE.

take a look of them.

I will use reg.air mail parcel post to U. s/n will inform after posted.

I need to match 5687 tubes for full balance set.
pls compare size of the 250ml milk & per set. its really big & this not inlcude tube buffer parts.

I will start to post ordered DAC to memeber next week. Now 3 sets of full balance & 5 sets of single was funish checking.

I was continous check & matching 5687 tubes, packing tube buffer parts.

I havet DAC v2 and v3 already. I'm still using v2 most of the time.
v3 is also very good, and sometimes better than v2 but I get a little more fatigue with it. V2 is more mellow with the tube output stage and Black Gates caps...

many thanks for your support, This final 1541a ( SE or Real full balance version) can said was combine total experience of v2 & V3.
V2 was more analog sound than V3, but V3 can use in three mode to tunning sound quality. THis setting can help user to save some money.

I prepare Active & passive PCB ( IV + LPF ) also provide more space for them to tunning, during testing I try to use J-fet & NPN for LPF & IV, but matching for them is not easy. I cannot maintain in low price & use them for IV+LPF, Diyers cannot adj sound quality by changing different Op-amp.

So finally, I was thinking to use Tube Buffer, but this is cathode follower, which tube will better, 6DJ8 was good in LV condition but worse in dynamic & looks its LV operation point detail was not good. Use 24/96 or 192Khz w/ LV 6922 buffer can lower digital sound. But in 1541, looks not need!

I also test with 6S4, 12B4,12BH7,6CG7 & 5687 ( all were small 8 pins tubes & triode ( large current) large current tubes running in HV had very gooddynamic. so I choose them, But In my stock. Most I had was 1958 & 59's 5687 ( black smoke plate & copper suport) so I choose 5687 for HV & High current cathode follower!



Do you find the full balanced version better sounding than the SE?

depend on which connect method for U, but use Full balance in SE output was actually waste money! U can try SE version first & feel good can upgrade to Full balnce, only lose some money of payapl commission & postage! This DAC was Module as your home computor, can One by One upgrade, not need to watse any PCB.

BTW, this New DAC was lower noise than previous all versions. U will love it.


My current Class D amp (Hypex UcD400) has a balanced input stage and my passive transformer based pre-amp can be configured for balanced operation as well. So I could have a full balanced system. Do you think that would be better sounding?

Probably can try SE first & feel good than considerate change to Real full balance version. I had some more optional will continous upgarde, it will had longer life than previus all model DAC.




Anyway, I'd like to order one of your new kits. The SE version plus tube stage PCB. Please let me know how to proceed.

Ok, many thnaks, But tube buffer need FDIY, very easy. I will prepare parts for all order memebr.

Not need power tranmsformers, Old DAC model can use, U can save some money!

I would like to tell U a good news.

they use another japan brand Tantalum Resistors but 1/2Watt only. I also got this already. later can supply to all member USD 0.8 per one. If U compare to AN 3.25USD per one ( same 1/2 watt) U will understand my price was very reasonable. Although only 1/2 watt. But it was enough to use in all signal area of dac & pre-amp.

This is my resistors stock.

I will use Dale & other brand resistors in 5687 tube buffer for this DAC kit.

I keep Dale resistors longer time, so I can maintain in low cost of & use in low price level products.

probably when Tantalum Resistors arrived, U can try to change signal resistors from dale to Tantalum Resistors, this will be funny & low cost!!!
