No Power to Amp

I just bought an 8" Pyle sub that came in a box with the amp already installed. I hooked it up. No power. So after 3 days of trying to fix it. Nada. So i thought i blew the board so i bout a new amp that is 200 watts. And took the old amp out and hooked up the new one. And the same happens. But this time my friends swear the can feel the SMALLEST bump, but i think it was the bass in the normal speakers. Can anyone help me with my little problem? thanks.

sounds like a driver problem. if you have access to an ohm meter, check for dc resistance of voice coil on driver. also i'd check for a broken tinsel lead on driver. good luck, crippledchicken

Is the power amp in the box working ? any lights coming on ? Can you check. ?

no lights are coming on.

Then it is not the driver. Is the fuse blown. ? Can you mesure the voltage comming off of the transformer ? Can you get me some pics ill draw some ideas, For you..

its not the fuses, ill try to get some pics. its a VRA2.0 200 watt amp and the Sub is the PYLE PLTA8.

Did you forget to connect the amp to a 14.4v power source? Don't be offended. Many moons ago while in high school I worked at a car stereo shop on the weekends. One Saturday a customer stopped by wanting to exchange an amp he bought during the week because he said, "it didn't work". When I went out to his car to have a look, I saw the speakers were connected but there was no power connected to the amp. When I told him the amp needed to be powered he just looked at me in puzzlement. He had no clue.

which would explain why ur amp's not powering up...sine there's no remote signal to turn it on...u can either use the remote from ur headunit...or just put 12V in as suggested (using the one frm the headunit would ensure the amp is turned on before the HU and thus reduce thumping sounds)

Take a wire off of your 12V from the positve on the amp and connect it to the Remote terminal the amp will power on.

so i need the battery, rem, and ground hooked up? what kind of wire do i need for the rem?

18 guage is plenty, from the remote lead of your head unit to the amp's terminal.

9i just looked at my head unit and i dont really see a place where the remote wire would go. I see L and R and all the other holes are filled....

then just connect 12V from ur amp's main power to the remote using a small piece of wire

Wow either you are extreamly new to this or ( CLUE LESS ) What deck do you have.. ? I'll look for the wiring diagram. The remote wire are mostly orange blue or marked RM or Trigger / remote.
