Hello everyone. Im new to the forum but am finding it quite helpful. Im embarking on a journey to hell and back and sharing it with everyone here as I work through the kinks.
I hope to hear all your comments, criticisms, and feedback.

The plan:
Build the ultimate portable boombox.
-Design the amp in house.
-Build the box.
-Assemble over next few months.

Requirements:
12+ hr operation @full power
Rugged + Rainproof
Accurate + powerful sound
Bluetooth


So thats my initial plan. Im still in the preliminary stages so input is most helpful now.

I think I would like to build this around the lm3886 chip powered by 10x-20x LG IMR HG2 18650 cells.
I will use off-the-shelf power management + charging boards.

Am I wasting my time with this IC or should i move to something better suited to portables?

Well, the LM3886 is not a Class-D, so it "wastes" more power while doing "nothing". Better go for a Class-D amp.

If it fits your budged, get the TPA3251 EVM from TI:

Rated for up to 38V (So 9s2p pack would fit).

Some great options with that, thanks for the direction.

I found the lm3886 with it product finder under class d chips.

!Edit $11.22 on Mouser. I think i can fit that into the budget 🙂
