Just finished up a new tpa3116 build and have encountered a problem I can't seem to figure out. It's a dual chip board sourced from eBay. Anyway, I can only get a steady "pop" out of it. It's regular and the volume increases incrementally and then decreases. Sounds like it is ticking seconds off. I'm using rca input from a known good source. No audio output save the popping. I've checked voltage, continuity, and for shorts. Nada. Ideas? This isn't the first amp I've built, but this is the first time I have run into a problem like this.

Popping can be defective capacitor, but for two independent amplifiers (on one pcb) to do the same, that capacitor needs to be in shared circuit, that would be a part in powersupply section.
That is when ampboard wasn't powered up without speakers connected, when that happened there is a chance capacitors in both amplifier outputs simultaniously burnt.

So I took the amp apart and eliminated as many unnecessary parts and connections as possible and tested it again and it works! Best I can figure, I had a short somewhere. I think my layout on the chassis was a little to tight. I'm going to redo the end plates and try again.
