Hello.
I'm off to building my first amp and would very much benefit from experienced users' feedback.
I purchased two sets of Hypex UcD400HG modules with HxR, SMPS400A400, associated cable sets, etc. Since I'm considering building these into DIY powered speakers (to be built), I'm building temporary cases so I can experiment a bit with amp placement.
I'm building wooden cases. What do you think of the layouts I'm considering? You'll see the IEC receptacle, on/off switch, XLR input and speaker posts.
The plan includes voentilation ppenings below and on top of the UcD module, as well as above/below the SMPS module.
I'm trying to keep the power cables and the XLR/speaker cables as far as possible from each other. Hypex says no metal screen is necessary between the modules (I do have some mu metal and 3M RFI/EMI absorbing paper, though).
What do you think? Looking forward to your input!
Cheers!
