Newbie help

Hi all,

Hopefully I'm posting in the right place and apologies if not.

I'm starting out with a raspberry pi build using volumio.

Current set up Is a pi3 (have already) and a justboom amp zero.

I'm looking for a 5 inch passive speaker to replace the existing one in the set up that will work with my set up and of course deliver a great sound. Could anyone point me in the right direction.

Attached some photos.

Ohhh sorry I don't know if my post maybe makes sense. The replacement speaker is one that needs to work with the raspberry pi and just boom amp zero... not sure if this helps

  • TAS5756 Digital Audio AMP - Class D
  • Maximum output is 30 W (RMS) 55W (Peak)
  • 112db SNR and -93db THD for best-in-class audio
Also I've got limited space to work with so just looking to find 1 mono 5 inch passive speaker that will work with this

i understand the request boils down suggesting a compatible replacement for what looks like a vintage Celestion B5MP speaker. I looked at the Celestion webpage and couldn’t see any reference to this speaker for any T-S parameters etc. which might help with a modern equivalent.

Given the attachment indicates a vintage valve radio set, there may be a forum that specialises in original (as possible) refurbishing of these. If not working, seems worthwhile to repair the original speaker.

Hi all, just to confirm it is not a direct replacement as it would be wired to the justboom amp zero.

Someone once recommended Faital Pro 3Fe22 (or 3FE25) However I am now looking for a single 5 inch mono speaker instead as it would be a better fit for the project
