Hi everybody

I found this place in the weekend and have read a lot of posts .. and I understand that this community have a lot of very knowledgable persons. I hope to get some new friends here 🙂

Myself: 49yr old engineer in electronics and I have worked in the computer industri all the time doing design and consultancy work .. well for the time being I'm a student at Nordic Institute for Stage and Studio .. learning how to become a great studio engineer, hopefully. I'm realizing an old dream ....

I'm also a musican, playing guitar and as you might guess I love Blues and Jazz. I also love clean undisturbed sound (except valve overdriven guitar amps 🙂

In my youth I made some amps, both hifi and guitar ones .. 1st one was finished at age 15 .. with Sanken 10W huge ICs 🙂 but as I got involved with computer design after graduating as en engineer I didnt have the time. Now it's time to change that too! But I understand I have a job catching up with analog design.

I'm going to make a low wattage class A design with differential inputs for my splendid KRK 9000 monitors. I don't mix at 120dBSPL!!

I'm very interested in variations over Mr. Pass' designs as well as JLH designs with newer and better devices. Maybe the JLP variation? Or .. being a norwegian I'm also considering M. Otala's low TIM, high biased class AB amp with low negative feedback introduced at an AES/EBU seminar in the 70's and implemented by a known norwegian company ( http://home.online.no/~tsandstr/OtalaStory.htm )

I'll make up my mind as summer is arriving!
Maybe I also can get some good advices here 🙂

Pleased to meet you all

Roar

Thanks

Thx everybody for the kind words.

Nice to meet other scandinavians, and descendants, here too .. cool. Meet some day .. why not, could be fun. I suppose there are danes her as well. And finnish.

Anyway, I love to meet ppl from all over the world .. have lots of friends in the US, Canada, Australia etc due to chatting in other forums (I dont mean the sexually oriented ones!)

And Per Anders .. hej .. I have looked into the swedish forum some times, and like the norwegian one at http://www.hifisentralen.no/cgi/yabb/YaBB.cgi (DIY and Tech) it's good but this forum seems to be exceptional. I've seen some danish ones too. But since finnish is completely understandable I haven't checked what they got.

I'll be around for sure 🙂 ty again everyone

Eh .. just read what I wrote .. finnish is NOT understandable to me.

Sorry to all finnish about that .. no harm .. I've worked for years with 2 finnish guys, both extremely intelligent and clever. And very nice .. as long as they didn't speak finnish 😛
