I can't seem to find much information to satisfy my curiosity about what a DC servo is in an amplifier.

Hi,
I am about to stir up a hornets nest.
The chipamp section are a lot of wallies.
If you want real information restrict most of your searches to solid state. That's where most of the knowledge lies.
Wait for it!
BTW.
a DC servo tries to cancel the output offset by measuring the DC on the output and applying a cancelation voltage to the input to minimise the output offset.
If components and values are selected well, the remaining offset can be held to less than 1mV for most conditions.

What is a "wallie" ?
I have great respect for the forum members and how they help
each other. I do wish an experienced member could start a "New
to DIY section" to help welcome the inexperienced into the world
of DIY by answering questions, designing circuits as they do for
their peers, instead of being told; as they say
"Don't go away mad, just go away"
