Hi There

I'm fresh to the forum. Found you guys via a members Flickr page where he had a picture of a very nice looking amp he had build. Worked really well too apparently 😀

I don't have much of a electronics background but I'm planing to learn. I'm really keen to build a nice valve amp. According to my brother, who is the electronics wiz in the family by the way, it's the best place to start if you want to do a project.

Hopefully I can learn a great deal and give back again one day.

I'll go through the forum in depth in the coming weeks since I'm sure it's all been covered before.

I stay in Dubai, UAE. So I might need some help trying to order parts internationally. Not sure what I would be able to source locally.

It'll be a learning curve.

Thanks

Well this is a fairly large meal to bite off, I mean if you decide to scratch build a tube amp and have not done a lot of electronics. But there is a way to get started that will provide you with both experience and rewards in the form of a working amp in say --- a couple of month's if you really dig in. By this I mean a Kit! Just Google (is that a verb?) "tube kit" and pick out something inexpensive to get your feet wet. What you are going to find is that in addition to the kit itself, you will need to obtain some specialized tools, but this provides a bit of short term gratification.
Then if you read these forums, and all resources you can get your hands on you will start getting ideas, and it's down hill all the way.
Oh yea, the first step is learing electrical saftey, you should search the forum for that info.
I hope I havent created a monster:hot:
