New Welsh Guy Joins.......

Well thats quite funny, I typed in "New Welsh Guy Joins" and a few threads popped up. One was" new Aussie joins". I'll let your own opinions decide on how accurate that thread is with mine?
Anyway, I joined this site in the hope that I might glean some info because I want to repair various items connected with me being a musician/songwriter.
My first task is to repair a Studiomaster Vision 8 mixer/power amplifier.
I have opened it up and when I switched it on one resistor (R112) glowed red hot and burnt out. I renewed this and I also removed and tested a component which looked to have burned out. It was a transistor TP30C. I seem to have the correct test results on a multi meter.
I am new to repairing this type of thing and need all the help I can get.
I can honestly say I know very little but am very keen to learn.
I'll try to post a few pics, I would be eternally grateful to any assistance offered.........thanks dylan.

Welcome to the forum Dylan!!....Just an observation here. On your pix of the burn't transistor you found...the out of focus one.....A pointer, one of numerous you'll pick up on here. See how that transistor is laid down? That tab with the hole in it is supposed to have a heat-sink attached. In the commercial world, the easiest, fastest way to build things seems to be the norm.
The way "we" would tend to build things....that transistor would be soldered in upright, with a nice sized heat-sink......Just my 2C.
