I agree with the waiting.
I don't agree with Ayre (which does 96kHz only).

It is too early. A lot more solution will appear in a year or so.
And we need more affordable software.

I think even in 5 years 192khz will prove to have more disadvantages to 96khz as far as overall implementation and resultant SQ. But time will tell.

Also, I can't access any datasheets or pages with more info about it. The via webpage seems down also..

It really looks to be a nice idea. I've seen it's capable of using two clock for 176 and 192 khz. This shows some attention to details.. The nice thing about it is that the drivers should be free..

I find that chip very interesting, unfourtunately it seems that no major soundcard producer (professional or consumer) used it.

I'd try to write to VIA, but then I don't think their market is DIY 🙂)

i'm also interested because this seems to be the only chip that can do 8 channels of separate i2c. I would like to remove the ADC's from my two BEHRINGER DCX2496, and feed them directly using USB.
