Dunno. I've heard only lead glass brings proper weight to the sound.
I am sure any large enough cap brings proper weight to the sound. So Leiden-Jar type caps definitely will do. Of cause, the most powerful sound will go from the real, 1600-1900 yy. built ones (obsolete now). For even more capacitance you may replace the bottle by a window pane. With several sqrm of alu foil on both sides you can build "The Wall of Capacitors"
