Hi All, just registered and first post so please be kind
What is the best sub forum to post the following.
I have a set of NHT 1.5 that someone else destroyed the tweeters on (Seas 25 TAF/D NHT) it is not possible to get a replacement diaphragm for this tweeter as it has a smaller faceplate to other similar SEAS tweeters.
OEM tweeter is 100watt 6 0hm 90db 91db SPl @1m .
What would I need to do to make a 8ohm replacement work?
Thanks in advance

If those are the same tweeters: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/seas-tweeter-pole-piece-drilling.372405/
(104 mm diameter faceplate) then toutlehautparleur.com may have replacement faceplate+diaphragm+voicecoils.
Also note if your speakers are old the ferrofluid has probably dried out. Not sure if using the tweeters without ferrofluid needs adaptation of crossover ...
By the way: you can ask a moderator to move the thread to the multiway forum. Use the "report" function at your initial post.

That's a great sounding tweeter. It was used in alot of nice designs. My old Mackie HR824s used them too.
If not mistaken, the NHT version was 100mm. Not sure. Audax TW025A04 would fit with 2.2 ohm series resistance to pad and adapt to xover. Not as transparent as the original metal dome, but will sound good.
Why not sand the circumference of the OEM Seas version faceplate down to the right size with a bench grinder or sander and drill new mounting holes instead of butchering the cabinets?
You'd first need to transfer the markings from the old tweeter mounting holes and outer circumference to the new tweeter face, then tape up the dome with masking tape to protect it from particles, then remove the excess faceplate material and re-drill the mounting holes.
The replacement dome is available here - https://en.toutlehautparleur.com/diaphragm-for-seas-tweeter-25ta-g-25taf-g-et-25tac-g.html
