at this point or rather lack of it it doesn't matter what you buy . Roll a dice or pick the color you like better . Both brands attract rather peculiar crowd willing to argue the merits of each .Listen to chatter and pick the camp you want to belong to . It's obvious you want to belong...All the best and happy moments with your music .

At this current moment i have a chance to buy a 1210 for $900 in immaculate condition.(I like the 1210 purely because of the color) so that would leave me with $600 for mods. do all the mods/parts listed for the 1200 fit the 1210??
That seems a bit expensive... But I don't know the going price in Oz.
The -1210 is a black -1200. No other differences, so yes, all the mods are the same.

The prices in Australia for hifi is ridiculous compared to other countries. if they where going for the the price they do in your homeland i would of jumped for the technics. For $900 i get the technics, for $2050 i get the rega rp6 with a dynavector 10x5 cart.
$2050US for a new RP6 and 10x5 would be a fair price here.
Either turntable is going to deliver the goods. I would, however, consider the Funk Firm Achromat as required on the Technics. (And, for what it's worth, I don't care for felt at all on a Rega...)
What are you thinking for a cart on the Technics?

I wonder if they've changed the composition of the mat. I've got an older one that I traded for a Linn felt mat. I tried it on my M3D and though it sounded awful, so I got a Herbies mat. It sounds way better.
