Hi all. Just letting you know that I've redesigned the RedRoo 5W SE amp to use a powder-coated steel chassis.
I'm also now offering it as a kitset (less the valves and external 12V transformer which many people will already have lying around).
If you want to roll-your-own chassis or use a timber case there is a version with a precision-drilled top plate only.
Or you can download the full design for free from the website, and maybe just purchase the pc board.

Great stuff Phil.
Will you be offering the same amp as mono blocks?
I know it will ask for a new PCB and so on, but just curious.
Cheers

The pcb isn't the problem, it's more the metalwork that's really expensive to have fabricated in small quantities. It would probably make sense to do a P-P amp, or parallel SE, so it could use the same metalwork as a mono-block.
You could always use the existing design as a mono-block by connecting the inputs and outputs together in parallel. Should get about 8-10 Watts I think. (not something to do with a solid state amp)
I'm currently working on a guitar amp/preamp for SE or P-P depending on links and output transformer selection.
