Hi amigos,

While Allo is about to release his TPA3255, Topping unveils its new Power amp , leaving the PA3S behind ....

Here the first measurements ) Open bets about the chip ? MA5332MS new Merus chip ??? ....

As reminder, Allo TPA3255 first measurements :

PS : I got the first picture ) I can already say, it is a balanced TPA3255 with Gain and inputs selector.

Are you sure it uses the TPA3255 IC ?

Those THD figures are commensurate with the Purifi modules. Any ideas on how they have achieved such low THD ?.

Have they implemented a variation of the Purifi feedback topology which is outside the patent description ?

the new Allo TPA3255 is using some innovative components like New op amps / air core inductors and a new ultra low noise psu. The measures have been share by Allo s founder himself ) So I want to trust him.

I have a picture but I cant share without agreement.
ASR will review it asap.
For the moment there is a Silicium shortage that makes it difficult to produce....be patient )

I am really curious about the match Topping PA5 vs Allo TPA3255 both seem promising for their price )

The reason i questioned the figures is that using the Post Filter Feedback (TI PFFB) implementation, the lowest THD is 0.002%.

I would not have thought that using an air cored inductor, or opamp change, or PSU change will have reduced the THD to the levels as per the measurement screenshots.

Is it possible that they have modified the PFFB ?

OK - for the TPA3255 (Allo) the measurements are still nearly 10x better than the TI PFFB implementation. So does the Allo design used the air cored inductor, and opamp change etc ?

For the MA5332MS, the datasheet shows at best 0.008% THD, which is significantly more than the website 0.0004% THD.

Yes, it means that a third party implementer for the TPA3255 has exceeded the TI PFFB design. The text from Daniboun can either indicate that using an air cored inductor and opamp on the input can improve performance, or that the implementer has created their own feedback design which exceeds the TI PFFB performance.

If the design is known then it could be copied and be a DIY project, or provide ideas for another person to create their own feedback design.

Hi, I hope they put a Merus Ma chip ....
I don't think the tpa which is starting to get old is a good option ...
I think all designs and implementations have reached the limits of this chip ....
moving forward! I regale myself with my Sabaj and my daughters too ....
More texture and harmonic and the sub output is just magnificent ...

In my humble opinion the Toppping PA5 will have a big competitor with the Allo TPA3255 which is coming soon)
By reading a little the specs of the Merus ... the measurements taken seem to me rather those of an excellent TPA325X ... but mystery and surprise) 😀

Sure ) This is why I keep on saying that the Merus chip is "warmer" than the TPA325X. As I shared before, the Merus sounds more like an AB amp for me....
But if you want an Amp that makes snap your feet to the beat of the music , try the Satisfaction A2 ! If you like the Sabaj, you will love it )
