I'm into speaker building, this place looks like a good home for me. This is the last set I built.

Well that's certainly an impressive introduction. Those look great. Tell us about them please. Oh and welcome to the forums.
It was a kit that was offered by zalytron. The guy at Zalytron changed the original design from having all the 6 1/2" drivers working together to one that has the two middle drivers running full signal then every other two pair going away from them decreasing in signal...I heard the original models. Then I built these thinking there wouldn't be that big of a difference, but it was a huge dissapointment....they sounded like crap... they got sold on Ebay.😡
Welcome to the forum,
That is called power tapering, and is tricky to get right...

He obviously knew NOTHING about it.

Hi 16Hz lover! Welcome to diyAudio!!! 😀 😀 😀
Your next project should be of great interest to many of us here! You can find Dr. Griffin looking in here fairly often - he might have a couple of tips for you 😉 http://www.audioroundtable.com/misc/nflawp.pdf

Well, I'm going the opposite route....I'm getting ready to build a set of Jamboree horn loaded bass bins( 3rd successor to the Khorns, 15" version of the Klipsch Jubilee), the whole system will be 106db eff.😀
Tired of building stuff with no real dynamics...90% of all the speakers out there are totally incapable of reproducing a set of drums in the room.🙁

Heh - U N Cal are gonna get along grrrrreat! 😎
I'll be building 4 of these bass bins which will have (2) 15" Eminence Omega Pro drivers in them. I"ll be stacking two per side with a baffle board between them that will be about 10" tall that will have 2 or 4 Audax Pr170MO 6 1/2" midrange drivers and a Ciare 105db horn tweeter. These are the bass bins
I'll be powering the 4 bass bins which will run from 80hz to 800hz with a Crown Macro Reference at 1500watts per side.
Subs will be a variation of the JBL 4624(2-18" woofers) cabinet 8ft long and about 22" cubed that will give me 18cu ft. and a -3db of 22 hz with EQ in my room. It will be powered by a Crown K2 amp.
That should get me started.😉
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
