At www.partsexpress.com, I just spotted a TB driver I never saw before. It's a 3" with an enormous magnet for its size, and it has a white Al/Mg cone. The response is pretty good except for a peak in the highs (can be fixed with just some inductance). I suggest those interested in fullrangers or line arrays should check it out.

That is a mean 13dB breakup peak at 8kHz with a 8dB harmonic at 16kHz.

Yes these are the ones Darren told me about a few months ago.
A simple filter in the top end and these will be a lot of fun.The openness to them is a lot more than the other 3" even the 871 as this has a responce all over the chart but put a filter on them and drive them harder than all the other 3" with have a xmax of .5mm this 315 has 1mm same as the older models TB made.
Top end ringing for these cones is something they have not figured out how to fix (TB).

These drivers could work extremely well in a multimedia setup with a sub. Or, I guess you can use them as midranges, and in that case the ringing won't be much of a problem. Still, I'd love to try them out to replace my (p.o.s.) computer speakers.
me think it might be ideal for a line source with a nice tweeter.
