Quote from the article:

"Bruno Putzeys, the lead engineer behind the Class D project at Dutch giant Phillips Electronics, and the man who developed the patent on which the MP150s are based, now works for Kharma and headed up the MP150 design team. He would like to dispel some of the dense fog enshrouding the subject of Class D design and open the window for some much-needed fresh air."

Errr, Bruno left Hypex?

That's one of the parts I found hilarious. The other was the # of possible class d amps (Bruno... you didn't).

Actually it's obvious that the whole review is simply an advertisement. "They can be tucked away, ordered in your favorite color, but why pick just one, when you can have the whole rainbow... stacked decoratively, and double as door stops" etc.

Muahahaaaaaaa!

Here's a truly disgusting part:

"Like other purist designs, the MP150 eschews the usual DC protection."

Yeah huh.

"Most amps have a capacitor buffer stage up front to cancel any stray DC from the preamp."

What are most amps, exactly?

"Especially when there are tubes upstream, there's the potential for DC leakage. If your pre-amp causes the MP150s to cycle on and off repeatedly, two minutes on your dealer's workbench is all it takes to engage the protection."

What protection?

"The amps are shipped with the buffer stage in place but disengaged"

So it is most amps

",,,, because Kharma feels the extra capacitors degrade the signal. (I had to activate the buffer when I used my vGA preamp.)"

So he knew enough to "activate the buffer" ..... but couldnt' tell all he was doing was removing a jumper across the caps. As if the buffer stage with 220k input impedance is normally not in use? What? um.... this is written for total idiots I think.

Oh wait.... did I say that? I better have proof of this guy's expected audience... and maybe the expected market as well:

The "Magic Chip" Ladies and Gentlemen, "it makes a difference 9 times out of ten"

Got more, the rack of silence review:

http://www.solid-tech.net/reviews/pdf/PositiveFeedback.pdf

"At the moment, I have three racks. Each has its own characteristics, and each
sounds different. The Polycrystal tends to emphasize frequency extremes and thin
the midrange, while enhancing definition. Overall, it gives a thinner, more focused
sound with pinpoint imaging."

MUAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I ppppppissed myself!

I have to say from the independant suspension system of the M350 to the mention of black gates, gold plated wire, and rainbow color availability, to the mention that it was designed by Bruno... who now punches the clock at Karma, bright and early(Say it ain't so!!!!) this whole thing.. just reeks gimme yo monay gimmickery.

Marshal Nack, you disgust me. :dead:

Good luck to Karma selling these anyway.

If I've read a more ignorant and uninformed joke of a review I can't remember it.

Still, I bet its a good amp; after all, its gonna be a UcD180 in a nice box...😀

I agree. Still, I can't help but wonder how it sounds if it were to be treated with the "intelligent chip" (snort), in the rack of silence.

the Rack of Silence is a serious tool for the
audiophile on the edge. Used with or without the Feet Of Silence, it brought
improvements beyond what my other racks offered, improvements that I wouldn't
want to be without. Marshall Nack
