Just found out about two new asynchronous sample rate converters which are on their way from TI. Don't know when we'll see samples or production stock available... The preliminary chip specs look promising - at least on par with, if not better than, the AD1896. Apparently, the new chips also support DSD output, for those who want to convert PCM data to DSD format for their DACs. A full datasheet is not yet available, but hopefully soon. These look like juicy critters, I hope I can get my hands on some samples when they arrive. 🙂
The new part numbers are SRC4192 and SRC4193, which are stand-alone and programmable versions, respectively.

I posted a little bit about the SRC4192 last week. Its 144 dB dynamic range is slightly better than the AD1896. Hopefully they will both be cheaper than the AD1896 too.
