I am what you'd call a wanna be audiophile. I would like to build very good quality mains to go with my now ageing but decent receiver (Denon AVR-95). I am now using a pair of Klipsh hand-me-down bookshelfs and a yahama YST-SW150 sub. The surround speakers are a pair of $70 RCAs from radio Shack. You can see there is a lot of room for improvement here.
I know very little about building speakers and what I do know, I learnt in the past week of doing research. I don't want anything exotic looking just some kick-a$$ sound. I'd like to start with the mains, rears and then the sub.
Some guidance from you veterans will be helpful. I look forward to this challenge with help from some of you.
