This is a new project of mine and i am looking for some help to make a howto for others like me.

Needs of the project:
multi channel processing (at least 2in 6 out - depends on ur soundcard)
Low latency.
web based gui ( or other viable remote control methods)
must be stable (hence the use of linux)
only open source software.
linear phase response (fft).
DRC.

Hardware: (dependent on your own HW this is mine)
AMD Quadcore
2g Ram
hoontech DSP2000 (8in 8out plus phantom mic etc).
emc8000 measurement mic.

Software:(first ideas atm)
Ubuntu Linux realtime (already using a rtos version of ubuntu for emc2)
brutefir - for filters low latency
virtual Fidelity(vFi) - provides a webpage via php and configure brutefir
Jack audio server - required for vFi
DRC - to create filters for brutefir
RoomEQ wizzard to generate IR for DRC

Uses for system: Fully PC based LMS including linear phase response filters(for XO/EQ), delays (small for aligning within a speaker box and large for seperate stacks),
compressors/limiters etc. ability to control system via network.

Reasons for software choices are as follows:

Realtime OS to help with latency.
BruteFIR seem to be quite efficient helping with latency
vFi seems to be a good start to using brutefir

At the moment i am looking at getting the brutefir / vFi side of things working before adding the extra functionality.

All suggestions are welcome ubuntu/linux OS is Not going to change so dont bother with this one :)
