You need a controller card for your LCD. Digital view sells them I believe..but these things are not cheap. They should be...but a really good one that will run an "outstanding panel" costs way too much. Mine cost $135.00 US plus tax plus shipping (from Taiwan to Nova Scotia Canada) Then the panel's....I'm still using my first panel but have 2 MUCH better panels sitting here...smashed in transit
. The refund check came today 😎 so I'm only out the shipping.
Side note...as the quallity of laptop panels goes up...so does the degree of difficullty in sucessfully removing the backlight and "relocating boards".

Sorry I haven't anything current at the moment..I just added the "light trap" on the top and haven't done any pics yet.

The first thing you need to do is find the specs for that panel...untill then it's a paper weight.

Re: zardoz
When I first started this project I had Clue zero on LCD's...read ...a lot...learn the basics then figure out what you want...then find a panel that will do that.

My first Elmo was missing it's stage glass. I cut a piece from a window pane...it worked fine. As for the lamp kit ..I would opt for a "double ended" lamp (smaller light source).
