Shocked and saddened by the new 'Child Friendly' web page design showing about a tenth of the information per page as the old one. Another site ruined for us desktop surfers. Unlikely to use any more...
Where is it customizable? This is like rearranging Helen Keller's furniture - it's not nice.
I can't see hardly anything.

I'm getting used to it - I like it.
This will be like iOS vs windows for some. Just give it time.

Thanks. But no better for me.
My vision is very poor. Moving things around is the very best way to torture me.
Time to say Goodbye ?
I just had a long talk with a well respected member, who is well over 11,000 with his post counter.
We agree that the forum is no longer what it used to be. For me functionality is lost, it just does
not work with my preferred reading device, an old IPad. I was able to reply quickly to threads with
this item also. Too many issues here to be reported. Now people will say throw it away and buy a
new one - but this is about the same kind of advice as replacing the tube stock by semiconductors.
A similar transition happened some years ago to another established forum and it is not useful and
worth reading it after that. Efficiency and fun factor are lost.
Sorry to say, but a change is not progress all the time. As a layman I can not understand why a
working forum with full functionality can not be fixed or run in future. Problems with the new format
may be similar after some time.
Anyway, hope that this community will survive the transition.

I just signed up for a membership after 8 years of browsing. Mostly prompted by wanting to help with the immense amount of work it was to transfer the site, and appreciation that the community is being put on a good footing for the next few years.
A lot of discomfort with the transition would be helped by making the Classic theme the default, though...

You are the expert here.Guess you've never been involved with keeping legacy IT systems running.
My currenT iPad (Gen 8) is showing no issue, other than id10T keyboard operator errors. Only took 5 minutes to browse around to find & save the “Classic” mode and enlarge font options to user profiles. No doubt there will now be more time/ breathing room for the sysadmins to fine tune to meet the consensus of most active users.
Consensus - I almost got that out without a brief derisive snort. 😉
and of course, once we’ve all received overlord Musk’s neural implants, hardware will become redundant😵

I did not know about the classic theme. Turning that on lets me see about 12 posts per page (down from about 20 on the old forum) and I'm stretching the width to use about 3/4 of a 44 inch screen. A short post, say a one line reply with no attachments is still mostly wasted whitespace. Any way to reduce that?
Patience? From what I’ve read they’re well aware of the information density problem and are working on a fix.
The height of each row seems to be influenced most by the column on the left that contains the avatar, the users name, and status. Perhaps changing the font or moving the down arrow would help. Changing the text size to small gets me to 19 posts on this page which is about we=here I was before the change. I can get away with this because I'm using a 44 inch TV for viewing the forum.Patience? From what I’ve read they’re well aware of the information density problem and are working on a fix.
