Hi Guys,
I've been a longtime lurker and have enjoyed the information/entertainment and it's time I contributed 🙂
I have 30 years of Concert Touring experience and now work in Pro-Audio for a loudspeaker manufacturer as Technical Training Manager/Instructor.
Cheers,

Hello Ferrit37 and Welcome to diyAudio 😀 😀 😀
I worked for 30 years and now I go on tours!!

Was an artist manager for a bit so I know what life is like on the road! Look what it's done for Mick and Keith!!

Hello and welcome to the forums. Feel free to tell us more about your career. Those actually in the business offer insights that few can match.
Hey Guys,
Thanks for the Welcome 🙂
Over the past years I've seen the industry mature, dare I say become an industry?
In the early days most SoundCo's "rolled their own" systems (so I'm kind of a DIY'er) this was to give them an edge over other companies and there really wasn't much suitable being offered.
I've watched the technology advance steadily over the years, 2-way, 3, 4, and 5 way Horn loaded systems trying to raise the efficency the Horsepower race, and then the implementation of Line-arrays, Digital consoles and now the latest "Golly-gee-wiz" DSP boxes with Beam steering and modelling.
We've come a long way.....and staying current is almost a full time job.
About 10 years ago, when I became a "greybeard roadie', I started to Teach what I had learned and discovered that I really enjoyed that. Most of the Large manufacturers are figuring out that if you educate your users they hopefully make more intelligent choices with their equipement, the days of "point towards audience, plug in and turn on" are long gone (but maybe coming back?)
These days everything is a corporation and even with big budgets and R&D depts I see projects killed because the numbers "don't look good" so it's refreshing to see guy's building stuff "because they can" it's how I started, maybe we'll see a "second wave" of cottage industry that will offset the offshore thing.
Thanks for the Welcome 🙂

1st point - "5 way horn loaded systems" - that alone will make Cal your lifetime friend 😀
2nd point - "cottage industry" - Papa Nelson already has his up and running.
