I came across this new product from musiland that can be used as standalone player from sd card playing all the common audio formats WAVE , FLAC, APE, MP3 in every compression modes and used as an Async USB DAC it can even play all the types of DSD files and PCM up to the maximum of 32bit/384khz
it is even equiped with 4 x Nimh rechargeable batteries that automatically recharge themselves when plugging into a new USB 3.0 type plug which puts out more juice than the traditional 500 mA from a USB 2.0 type plug
it is using PCM1798 as a DAC and TPA6120 as a best quality headphone output available today on the market
it fully supports the new Windows 8.1 even in 64bit with low latency ASIO drivers
it even has internal I2S routing in case someone would like to use an external DAC ... I would tie these I2S signals on the MU-LINK output that is of no use anyway
