Hello, Looking to expand my knowledge to repair vintage equipment. Have voltage meter, soldering iron and the willingness to learn.
You might like a vacuum desoldering tool to cleanly remove components without scattering lead solder across the PCB. It is like a hollow soldering iron. You press a button to remove solder, point the tool at a rag or disposal tray, release the button. It spits out the solder.
This tool works well with single layer vintage PCBs. It is not so reliable for multilayer.
