Hi everyone,
I'm a relatively electronics newbie that is highly motivated to learn. I'm currently a Chemistry post grad student with an interest in music and hifi. I really wish I was able to take any electronics class in undergrad, but it's great that there is a dedicated DIY community.
My question is what should I start reading (books) to get me started in DIY electronics? I have a particular interest in vacuum tube amplifiers- I have a small chinese tube amp with bookshelf speakers that I love and I'm intrigued by tubes.
I think I'm motivated enough to teach myself everything there is to know about reading schematics, troubleshooting and just tube and solid state design in general. So any recommendations would be appreciated on where to start!
Thanks again!

Hi Andy and welcome to the forums.
Morgan Jones for building tubes amps.
Vance Dickason for speakers.
Give google a try on those two.
