From talking to Mark, the oxide on the MAOP are achieved with electron bombardment, not chemicals.

It is in the broadest sense, but the term usually implies use of some chemical to change the structure. Mark’s process is pricier, has more rejects and likely gives a better result. MAOPs are certianly very good.
