new idea for amp

haven't found out yet. they've been bought by Cirrus Semi, so it's possible their prices may come down a bit...... just part of the mental gymnastics i'm going through with a design.... something looks like a candidate for prototyping, so i investigate it and either it works or it doesn't. it would be nice to find a "universal drop-in" front end for an amp design. if it works it would cure a lot of headaches, but on the other hand, it could cause as many headaches as it cures..... part of my idea is a "universal amplifier" that has a "universal" front end, allowing the basic amp design to be scalable for any output power between 50 and 500 watts, the only real differences being the power supply and output stage. a useable (i.e. stable) front end that can operate at any rail voltage from +/- 50 to +/- 100 V would be a step in the right direction. i have already designed a front end that is basically a high voltage op amp, but needs to be "tweaked" to operate properly at various rail voltages( differences in resistor values, etc...).
