Hey all,

I've been lurking around here for quite some time, and then finally joined so that I could view other peoples' pictures. Love all the information that's here!

I've been talking extensively with an audiophile colleague of mine, and have been dabbling in full range drivers for quite some time.

My current collection and undertaking is:

(2) Fostex FE126En's (and an EnAbl DIY kit)
Scott's (Woden) Valiant plans. Thanks Scott!
$300 worth of African Sapele
$50 worth of Poplar for internal pieces
Various speaker building supplies

Here's the only picture I have so far:

So, I tried my hand at the EnABL process to my 126's (I still need to add the middle ring). They didn't come as well as I had wanted them to, but hopefully they'll be better than stock. I used blue-grey and green paint for the rings, Micro Gloss for the cones, and Mortite rings above the magnet.

Hi,
I am really looking forward to following your build 😀

I have just bought some Fostex FE126ENs myself and embarking on something much simpler as its my first build.

Did you take any pictures of the enabling process that you did?

Also being in Engalnd I have been unable to source duct seal we don't seem to do it. Are there any other trade names etc

Keep the momentum going

Lee

Well, the project is a bit on hold right now. It's been way too cold in my parent's barn to continue the woodworking aspect, and I had some problems with the Sapele wood being warped. Right now I have all of the side panels inside with a huge piece of stainless steel sitting on top of them to flatten them back out.

The stuff that is used on the back of the 126's is named Mortite, but it can also be called weatherstrip cord, weatherstrip rope, caulking rope, etc.
