I was reading posts from all of you, about fullrange speakers, and saw many beautiful projects, but i never understud why are they better than normal 2-3 way speakers. They lack of detail and offcourse bass. But that all changed few thays ago when i was listening some of my older 1L of volume, 10cm fullrange speakers aimed at my ears. They are presenting music with such great information about space where it is played, that if you sit and draw room or hall it wold look almost like original one. And voices sound great. I have finally found best type of speakers for me (except magneplanar).
Ok, next step was to add details to the sound. I added the tweeter (with computer crossover) at 15kHz, but all thet great information about space has lost. Adding bass crossed at 100-150 Hz didn't spoil sound, just added extra power for "stronger" types of music.
So offcourse, i'm going to build speakers. I have experience with standard 2-3 way speakers, so im not new to speaker building, just to fullrange speakers.
I can't buy fostex here, so i am going with Visaton. I have two speakers on my mind. First is for computer (>100Hz) supported by bass, and second one is for living room.
For first one i have chosen this speaker http://www.visaton.com/english/artikel/art_261_1_3.html . It has good response and many people are happy with the results. It is going into 5l box which i simulated with boxsim (only on german) http://www.aj-systems.de/ . Maybe it will be closed or maybe bass reflex, depends on woofer support. Picture of 3d model is bellow.
I get different results in boxsim and in winisd, and don't know why. I need suggestions about this design.
Second box will be with Visaton B200 speaker in this Solo 100 box http://www.visaton.com/english/artikel/art_781_6_89.html . What do you think about that?
