It needs some more work on responsive. Mobile is kind of broken atm. Two burger menus is confusing too 🙂 And it has one funny heading, lets touch, get in 😅
Not necessarily, for those with Semisouthsnext logical thing is SIT monoblocks

I think the table needs editing.Huh… seems like Nelson changed the SIT-4 to no feedback. Interesting.
Not necessarily, for those with Semisouthsbut what’s wrong with having both?
I've meant FW product, not project for Greedy Boyz
Yes but some of Papa's articles links have disappeared like Lx-mini crossover networkThe new FW website site is very clean and modern looking so far.
That will get fixed, this was just the first iteration, and I'm not doing
the work. If you notice anything else missing, post a note here.

Just noticed the SIT 4 launch with Tokin SIT. If it is anything like the DIY 2SK60 (I know, SK60 design is source follower, not common source) fronted by FE 2022, it will be a tremendous hit. I have had my DIY 2SK60 now for over a year, although with a regulated linear power supply (the wall wart is fine, too). The linear power supply smoothed and expanded the sound stage and powers the FE 2022 cards as well.
Of course, the First Watt product will be much more robust in construction, parts, execution, detailing and build.
They seem to have similar power from specs. I have run mine with an 88db panel speaker @ 3.6 ohms with no crossover at times. Surprisingly, it plays well to a satisfying volume and the best description of the sound is 'pure', the kind of 'pure' that is lusted for but seldom achieved. I also keep coming back to it preferentially to run my 75 inch Wisdom audio ribbons from 300 Hz to 7Khz @ 6 ohms which it does without any particular limitation that I can determine. The massive Tokin device, of course, has much higher overhead and power potential than the SK60, but that Sony VFET is a fine sounding device in the mu follower single end.

Hey Nelson, hope all is well. Duane here from Folsom. Is the Distortion spec of ".6% (point six percent) accurate for the new SIT-4, or in error? All others show .02%. Also curious about the halving of power from 10w@8ohm to 5w@4ohm. Anything to be aware of there, if I were to try Sit4 with my 6ohm 93db sensitivity custom AMT speakers, the ones I shared with you a few years back, etc. Or go for F8 or SIT-3 used instead with a little more drive? Thx

all FW SIT amps had higher THD than other ones

Just for sheiss and giggles, the $350K Wavac (allegedly) single ended transmitter tube amp compared to the SIT-4. More distortion at 10 watts from the Wavac, LOL! second line from the bottom @ 8 ohms. Subjective on the Wavac is it's pretty miraculous in sound quality, according to various critics.
150 watt amplifier distortion curves compared
@Zen Mod "all FW SIT amps had higher THD than other ones"
Not according to the current website content as of 2/24/24. SIT-4 shows 0.6% Distortion.
The rest (including other SIT amps) all show 0.02% Distortion, and the reason for the website accuracy question.

I may not be the brightest bulb in the circuit, certainly not around here, but I don't really get the point of the FW site. Not to say that there isn't a wealth of knowledge there, thank you all, but what is the intent? It appears to be promoting finished, high quality, modest cost products that are for sale, but the path to acquiring is not clear. Bouncing around the various links and I see that I have plenty of reading to do, but no better idea of the raison d'etre.
First Watt is a commercial enterprise so I would say that the website is a marketing tool.

Thanks, I have been in the retail side of the industry forever and kind of figured it out. If I had stumbled on the site and was interested in getting a SIT4, how would I go about that, rhetorical question.First Watt is a commercial enterprise so I would say that the website is a marketing tool.
and the reason for the website accuracy question.
evidently, site is under construction
knowing that, no reason to obsess, just - when interested - look at locally saved copy with WinHTtrack
To be clear, what I see is a website geared toward education first and maybe marketing the product as an after thought. That's fine if that is the purpose, but if marketing the product is first, then it needs to be more obvious and easier to purchase.
