I suspect the most improvements in THD are related to these bigger and low distorting inductors as we've shown in the past.
Any plans to swap TPA3118 for the newer TPA3128 as this improves output impedance and burst ratio?
We are testing it..
Damn, that looks beautiful. Any idea when it will become available in the US?
As soon as it passes all the tests.

Placement of components was very important.
newer TPA3128

Test results are in.. we are waiting for a second round tomorrow and everything will become public.
As a current Kali/Piano 2.1 user I'm very interested in this - been wanting to try an ESS-based DAC for a while! Any update?
Tomorrow never comes.![]()
hehe..yeah sorry there was independence day and then a long weekend because of some strikes.
Data will be published tomorrow.
While preparing for your data tomorrow can you tell me will you be offering any mono boards? I am looking for mono boards with stepped attenuator. Thanks.
Well, I'm tented to write this. We'll see your comments...
I was wondering why this new DAC should have Rpi size ? Why is that ?
It can be any size, and the small Rpi board is connected somewhere. I read that this new DAC , due to it's complexity, should have multiple boards, with several connectors between. That is not better, and may be worse. Perhaps the pcb's design is somehow compromized in order to achieve such XXsmall size. Hope not.
Is this extra complexity (XXsmall size) creating problems and delaying final product, that we expet to be great ?

The small size made the project a bit more difficult but not impossible. As far as connectors we took everything in consideration and chose the right connectors. PCB design was in no way compromised . Back to testing..

So is this a one, two or more board(s) solution?
3 board stack
1.ess sabre , 2.analog board output with discrete opamp , 3.control and voltages.
